With the NFL’s free-agent frenzy on, it seems like every team in the league is looking for a quarterback.
With Dez, though, the Cowboys haven’t shown any interest in re-igniting the quarterback debate with their second-round pick.
The team will be in free agency next offseason and have a chance to resign De’Anthony Thomas.
So the Cowboys aren’t going to give him a second chance, sources told Fox Sports.
It seems like the Cowboys are going to try and re-engage Dez in some way, but not with any new deals.
“I think that’s the reality for Dez right now,” one source said.
“Dez hasn’t really gotten the chance to prove himself in the NFL, so that’s why the Cowboys will go with what they’re going to do.
If they can get something in return from him, I think that would be a really good thing.”
So the team is keeping Dez and hoping he makes the right decision for himself and the team.
“He has to take it on his own and make the right call on his future,” another source said of Dez.
“That’s why we all want him to be a Cowboy.
That’s what he needs to do, and if he’s not happy, he needs a coach and a GM to take care of him.
So that’s what we’re trying to do with him.
We just want him happy, we just want to keep him happy.”
